What is Psychotherapy and Counselling?

Psychotherapy and Counselling are both based on the practice of sharing, exploring, and resolving of issues, in a safe environment, supported by a trained professional.

  • change the things about yourself that you would like to change

 What can I expect from a Psychotherapy or Counselling session?

Psychotherapy or counselling sessions are tailored to your individual needs and, can be short or long term and can consist of psychotherapy, counselling or a combination of the two as decided upon in co-creation between you and your therapist.

All sessions are confidential and professional standards of practice, as described in the ethical codes of New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists (NZAP), New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and/or International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) will be maintained at all times.

You can also expect that:

  • You will be treated with dignity and respect
